When you order a custom pet jewellery piece, it is natural to wonder why it takes around 6–8 weeks to arrive. The answer is simple: every JaneForYou piece is made to order, hand-painted and carefully finished for one pet and one story. The time is not a pause between steps. It is part of the work itself.
1. Your Order Is Prepared for a Personal Process
Once your order is confirmed, we prepare the portrait and jewellery details for your individual piece. This is the moment when a custom order becomes a real project in our workshop. Unlike ready-made jewellery, there is no finished stock waiting to be packed; each piece begins its own journey from the start.
2. The Portrait Is Built Layer by Layer
High-temperature enamel is painted gradually. Fine details, colour balance and expression are developed in layers rather than applied all at once. This allows the portrait to keep its depth and hand-painted character, but it also means that the artist cannot rush from one stage to the next.
3. Every Firing Needs Time
After a painted layer is complete, it is fired at high temperature. The piece must then cool before the next layer can be assessed and added. Repeated firing creates the luminous, glass-like finish of enamel, yet each cycle requires patience. The work moves forward only when the previous stage is stable.
4. The Portrait Becomes Jewellery
When the enamel work is ready, the portrait is assembled into its final form: a Memory Locket or Portrait Bracelet. The jewellery components are checked, finished and prepared for daily wear. This stage brings together the artwork and the craftsmanship of the piece as a whole.
5. We Check the Details Before It Leaves Us
Before a custom order is sent, we carry out a final quality check. We review the surface, colour, setting and overall finish so the piece feels complete before it begins its journey to you. It is a small but important final step, especially for an item made to be kept for years.
